I offer Yoga Alliance accredited yoga teacher training programs in the greater New England area and nationally.  With time on the mat since 1989 and in the role of the  teacher since 1999 I've much experience to draw from.  The programs I offer far exceed the standards set by Yoga Alliance incorporating many different techniques, a cross-pollination of styles, and penetrating study of asana, anatomy, meditation, therapeutics, hands on assisting, sequencing, wisdom teachings, subtle anatomy and so much more.

New program starting in November 2018!  Deepen your practice of yoga asana and anatomy, broaden your knowledge of yoga philosophy, and develop your teaching skills in a supportive, educational environment.  In this 12 session, 300 hour teacher training, the emphasis is on the subtle body and learning how to work one on one with students for maximum effect.  Much time is also dedicated to understanding the advanced practices and narratives that comprise the ancient tradition of yoga, while keeping a pragmatic approach for the modern student.

The Prajna style, as established by Tias Little, offers a profound journey inward.  Starting with the idea that yoga is a pathway that begins in the outer layers of the body and mind and navigates inward to the mystical, subtle and rarely seen interior.  We'll combine meditative practice with the power and grace of asana training.  In a process that requires sensitivity and inner listening, we'll explore the sheaths of connective tissue, muscle and bone in order to bring about greater wakefulness, luminosity and space within.  Underlying this teaching is the intention that we do not do poses for the sake of the pose, but for the quality of attention within the pose.  Through yoga postures, dharma study, guided meditation, the yoga of sound, somatic awareness and breath work this is a practice that allows for unique, personal transformation.

Perfect for a late evening class!  We'll practice slow, soft, repetitive movements to unwind the surface tension throughout the body.  This allows feeling into the deeper postural muscles, aiding in balanced joint spaces, offering healing to the joints.  We'll conclude the practice with yin yoga postures laced with pranayama, and mindfulness techniques to sweeten the heart-mind and enhance the pranic field.

A workshop for yoga teachers and aspiring teachers.  This weekend we'll work with touch and consider the ways we do, can, and ought to offer manual assists to yoga students.  In addition to the weekend teacher training content, I'll offer a yin yoga class with focus on the subtle body on Friday evening, including ways to connect with students, offering assistance, without touch..."touching" with skillful and clear language!

Providence Power Yoga Annex - PVD, RI

A strong hatha class that leads to a peak posture (or two!).  Explore your boundaries and play along the edges of what you think is possible.  This class is moderate intensity, non-heated, and emphasizes longer holding of postures.  Pranayama and meditation are also included.  Props are utilized to deeply enhance, inform and support each asana.  This class is excellent for those looking to delve deeper into the specifics of asana.  Props to Caroline Pope Peavy for sharing this time slot with me!
